Next-Best Motion

A lightweight tool that helps a specialist move from a customer conversation to a small, explainable shortlist of the portfolio motions worth leading with. It supports specialist judgement — it does not replace it. Built for an enterprise technology team and in daily use.

Problem

The problem was never a shortage of offerings — it was the difficulty of quickly translating what a customer is saying into a small, usable set of motions a specialist could lead with.

What this is

A browser tool that bridges what the customer says, where they are in their transformation journey, the topic in play, and the portfolio motion to open with — returning a ranked, explainable shortlist from a curated catalogue of motions.

AI role

AI converts pasted meeting notes into structured signals from a controlled vocabulary of stages, topics and cues. A deterministic engine then does the ranking, and a local fallback keeps the workflow running if the AI step is unavailable.

Current status

Live for a named specialist audience, with consistency checks, usage and cost controls, and privacy-friendly analytics. Recommendations are always checked by the specialist.

A deliberately simple build with a curated catalogue, deterministic ranking, a controlled vocabulary for the AI step, and a local fallback — so the core workflow never fully stops and the specialist stays in control of the final call.
